We specialize in chlorine free systems. Chlorine free does not mean chemical free, all spas / pools have a chemical balance necessary for bather/swimmer comfort as well as the longevity of your equipment.
Chlorine and or Bromine are frequently used in pools and spas because they do two things very well, oxidation and sanitation. Once you eliminate the Chlorine and or Bromine you must have a two part program in order to both sanitize and oxidize.
The first part of a true chlorine free system is the sanitation aspect. By Caleb integrates Ultra Violet light waves at 254 nanometers per second and diverts the water flow though a UV chamber. This effectively scrambles the DNA structure of the micro organisms and renders them sterile. A 100 % flow through is critical to the complete and efficient treatment of the pool and or spa water.
The second part is oxidation.
By Caleb uses a 30-35% concentrated hydrogen peroxide solution. H202 is a very powerful variety of water,( hydrogen and oxygen) once it has done its job of oxidation, it reverts back to water and oxygen.
Another option is Ozone ,a gas that has a very powerful oxidation capability. There are several ways to generate ozone. The first and most common is a UV light bulb at less than 200 nanometers per second wave length. This is similar to UV sterilization however it is used as a gas rather than a flow thru chamber. The other method used to create ozone is by an electrical spark known as corona discharge. A small micro processor times the electrical discharge of small amounts of electricity inside a chamber and concentrates the gas for distribution into the spa plumbing. Both methods are cost effective and help reduce the need for chlorine / bromine.
Chlorine / Bromine systems
Many times people refer to a salt system as chlorine free, this is simply not true. Salt, in its basic form is sodium chloride. If you expose the sodium chloride to a small amount of electricity and or solar energy it becomes sodium hypochlorite, (bleach) Salt generators simply manufacture chlorine on site and eliminate the need to haul it in buckets and feed manually. There are many positive sides to a salt systems as well as a list of downsides.
Sodium Bromide is bromine salt in a granular inactive state. Exposed to chlorine, ozone, or MPS it turns into the active state of Bromine.
By Caleb LLC would be happy to discuss any and all water treatment options with you.
